The purpose of the Patient-Centered Transgender Health Toolkit is to close the gap in knowledge of nurse practitioner or NP faculty and practicing clinicians by providing faculty, students and clinical NPs with evidence-based information on caring for transgender populations. Resources, vetted by practicing clinicians in the field of transgender care who are also nurse practitioner faculty, are provided in the toolkit. NP Faculty need the insights and experiences of other faculty who have tested strategies and innovations. Faculty can use the multimedia information in the toolkit to create evidence-based learning modules for students on this topic that increase awareness of the needs of the transgender population and provide solutions to meeting these needs.

Objectives: By the end of this presentation, nurse practitioner faculty will be able to

1) Identify their target learners and level of learning regarding Patient-Centered Transgender Health;

2) Describe the rationale for including transgender health content in nurse practitioner education; and

3) Formulate ideas for curriculum development based the toolkit information, along with examples of learning objectives and activities
