Teleweb Series in Community Health, Part 2

Connecting the Dots Between Community Health and NP Education:
Strategies and Concepts for Integration

The second conference in the Teleweb Series highlighted public and community health concepts to incorporate into NP education.  The discussion encompassed key concepts and timely issues, such as bioterrorism, a top priority in public health today.   To assist faculty in integrating these concepts into an NP curriculum, speakers presented selected teaching strategies and learning approaches.

Objectives:

  • To discuss essential public and community health concepts in NP education.
  • To identify new issues on the horizon for public and community health
  • To discuss strategies for integrating community health content in an NP curriculum that address the differing backgrounds and specialty foci of NP students.
  • To describe unique teaching approaches for incorporating the community and population focus in the NP curriculum.
