Overview
NONPF will provide this level of service to NP programs that are interested in continuous quality improvement and/or may be
interested in preparing self-study materials for an upcoming accreditation visit. The foundation for this consultation will be the NONPF Curriculum Guidelines and Program Standards, the NONPF Domains and Core Competencies of Nurse Practitioner  Practice, and the National Task Force on Quality Nurse Practitioner Education’s Criteria for Evaluation of Nurse Practitioner  Programs. NONPF recognizes these documents and the framework for all nurse practitioner educational programs, regardless of specialty.

What is involved in the consultation?
Programs will submit materials as requested in the “How to Conduct a Self-Assessment. (available only through the NONPF Consultation for Quality Nurse Practitioner  Education Program). NONPF will assign a consultant to the program, and this individual will review the materials from the program and work with the program for assuring adherence to the evaluation criteria and  the NONPF curriculum guidelines. This consultation will also include recommendations for standardization of data management in the NP program to facilitate preparation of reports specific to guidelines and the evaluation criteria.

Communication between the consultant and the program will be conducted via e-mail and telephone conversation. The consultant will provide the program with a written,  consultation report.

How long  is  this consultation?

This level of consultation will not exceed 3 months.

What is the cost?

The fee for Level 2, PIC, is $450 for a program with up to 2 NP tracks and  $150 extra for each additional track. The cost covers the modest  NONPF administration fee and the consultant fee for review of the materials,  communications with the program, and the report preparation.

The consultation agreement is between NONPF and the program. The consultant is providing the service  but does not engage in a direct agreement with the program. NONPF  and the program will sign a memorandum of understanding after the terms of the consultation are identified.
