Kathryn Fiandt APRN, DNS, FNP
Associate Professor and Coordinator, Family NP Program Clinical Director, Family Health Care Center University of Nebraska Medical Center Dr. Fiandt was prepared as a family
nurse practitioner in a post-Master's program in 1976. Since that time
she has actively involved in both practice and nursing education. She
became involved in nurse practitioner education in 1993 and has been the
coordinator of the UNMC Family Nurse Practitioner Program since 1994.
Her curriculum strengths include a clear understanding of the NP role, both
clinically and professionally. That strength is operationalized in
her curriculum work as a focus on functionality and core knowledge.
In addition to having strength in curriculum content, she has been involved
in distance education since 1993, initially using interactive television
to sites across Nebraska and more recently has successfully used web-enhanced
and CD-ROM technology for delivery of her program.
