Faculty-to-Faculty Mentoring
Program in Community Health
1999-2000

The first cohort of the NONPF Faculty-to-Faculty Mentoring Program in Community Health came together in Fall 1999.  Twelve faculty members traveled to one of three mentor sites.  There they discussed essential concepts of community health and observed how these mentor sites integrated these concepts into a nurse practitioner program.  The participants identified and began work on individual projects designed to integrate community health into their home NP programs.  They further refined their projects during a second visit to the mentor sites in early 2000.  The results of these projects, along with reports from the mentor sites and the Project Director, Connie Uphold, ARNP, PhD, were compiled into a monograph, which was distributed to the NONPF membership.  Challenges and Opportunities for Integrating Community Health in Nurse Practitioner Education highlights the issues involved in the integration of community health content into nurse practitioner programs.   Anyone interested in purchasing this monograph should see our publications page for pricing and ordering information.
