MENTORING: Ensuring the Future of NP Practice and Education
NONPF recognizes the significant value of mentoring in preparing future NP and advanced practice nurse clinicians and educators.  Under the leadership of Dr. Michelle Beauchesne, the NONPF Educational Standards and Guidelines Committee identified a need for a resource to address the phenomena of mentoring, its characteristics, and strategies for integration into the NP educational experience.  This monograph presents a collection of 13 articles on key topics related to mentoring presented within three sections:  (1) mentoring versus precepting, (2) mentoring NP students, and (3) mentoring NP faculty and future leaders for the NP profession.

As stated by the editor, Louise Rauckhorst, "This monograph reflects the scholarly work, research, and real world experience of NP faculty and NPs regarding the use of mentoring to facilitate the professional development of NP students, novice, NPs, NP faculty, and the future leaders of the NP profession."

Scholarship and Career Development: Strategies for Success
The Scholarship Manual for NP Faculty is now available.  T
his
manual will assist NP faculty as they enter and progress through their academic careers by offering suggestions and examples of how to present their scholarship in such a way that they are maximizing their impact on the discipline and attaining recognition for their contributions.  The model chosen for this manual is the view of scholarship presented by Ernest L. Boyer in his publication Scholarship Reconsidered: Priorities for the Professoriate (1990).  NONPF members are contributors to the various manual sections.  Editors: S. Chase, M.A. Dumas, M. Jansen.  See the Order Form for publication prices and ordering information.
